Tallshot — Screen Capture (Chrome extension) · Version 1.2.0
Last updated: 16 September 2026

The short version: Tallshot collects nothing. It has no server, no account system, and no analytics. Your screenshots and settings are stored on your own computer, inside your Chrome profile, and never leave it unless you download or copy them yourself.

1. Who this applies to

This policy covers the Chrome extension Tallshot — Screen Capture, published on the Chrome Web Store and developed by Suchart Martwiset ("we", "the developer"). It describes what the extension does and does not do with information on your device.

2. Information we collect

None. The extension does not collect, transmit, sell, rent, or share any information about you or your browsing. Specifically, Tallshot does not collect:

There is no analytics package, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no advertising identifier, and no usage counter in the extension.

3. What the extension stores on your device

To do its job, Tallshot writes two kinds of data to local browser storage. Both stay on the computer you are using and are never transmitted anywhere.

WhatWhereContains
Your captures IndexedDB in your Chrome profile (database name frame-captures) The screenshot image, the title of the page it came from, its URL, and the time it was taken
Your settings chrome.storage.local in your Chrome profile Image format, PDF paper size, footer preference, smart page splitting, download folder, save-as, auto-download, and clipboard fit preferences

chrome.storage.local is local-only storage. It is not chrome.storage.sync, so nothing is copied to your Google account or to your other devices.

4. What the extension sends over the network

Nothing. Tallshot makes no network requests of its own. It contains no remote scripts, no CDN references, no fonts or images loaded from third parties, and no API calls. All of its code is contained in the package you installed from the Chrome Web Store, which is also what its Content Security Policy enforces.

The one exception is a link, not a request: the "Buy me a coffee" link in the extension's popup and sidebar opens buymeacoffee.com in a new tab if you click it. At that point you are on a third-party website governed by its own privacy policy. Tallshot sends nothing to that site and receives nothing back.

5. Permissions and why they are needed

Chrome grants extensions only the permissions they declare. Tallshot declares four, each for a single purpose.

PermissionPurpose
activeTab and scriptingRead the dimensions of the tab you are capturing, take the screenshot, and scroll the page during a full-page capture. This applies only to the tab you explicitly ask to capture, at the moment you ask for it. Tallshot has no host permissions, so it cannot read pages in the background or on tabs you have not acted on.
storageSave your settings and your capture history locally, as described in section 3.
downloadsWrite the PNG, JPG, or PDF file to your Downloads folder when you choose to download one.
clipboardWritePlace a capture on your clipboard when you press Copy.

Screen and window capture uses Chrome's own screen picker. You choose the source each time, and sharing stops as soon as the image has been taken. On macOS, Chrome itself may ask you for the system Screen Recording permission before this works — that is a Chrome and macOS permission, not something Tallshot receives or stores.

6. How your data is used

Your captures are used for one thing: showing them to you in the editor and in your history, and producing the file you asked for. They are not processed for any secondary purpose, not used to train anything, and not read by the developer, who has no access to your device.

7. Sharing and disclosure

We do not share, sell, transfer, or disclose any user data to third parties, because we never receive any. There are no service providers, no processors, and no advertising partners involved in the operation of this extension.

8. Retention and deletion

Your data stays until you remove it. You are in control of all of it:

9. Children

Tallshot is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. It collects no information from anyone, including children.

10. Security

Because no data is transmitted or stored remotely, there is no server to breach and no account to compromise. Your captures are protected by the same operating-system and browser-profile protections as the rest of your Chrome data. If your computer or Chrome profile is shared with other people, be aware that they may be able to open your capture history.

11. Changes to this policy

If a future version of Tallshot changes what it stores or transmits, this page will be updated and the "last updated" date above will change before that version is published. If a change ever meant the extension collected user data, it would be announced here and in the Chrome Web Store listing, and Chrome would ask you to approve any new permission it required.
